PARIS, TX (KXII) – This week’s A+ athlete is Peyton Holland of Chitham High School.
Peyton holds a perfect 4.0 GPA, is enrolled in a double-credit course at Paris Junior College and is the next class greeter for 2023. She juggles her FFA presidency with her volunteer work at Chisum.
“My experience with Peyton? She’s the kind of kid you hope and dream of having sometimes in your teaching career.”
“Now I’m used to it, I’m just studying all the time. I’m doing my schoolwork well and I know it’s going to be very difficult in college,” Holland said. “I know that I want to go to medical school in the future. It won’t work.”
Of course, Peyton excels in athletics as well. Competed in his four sports for Lady Mustangs Athletics. In softball, he was named to the Texas Sportswriters Association All-State team. On track, she holds the school record for the triple jump. On the court, she was named Basketball’s Red River She Volleyball Offensive Player of the Year and Chitham Volleyball’s District Server of the Year.
“Whatever the game plan is, she’s very disciplined in doing it and you can see how that translates on the court. It’s the same in her schoolwork and in FFA.” She makes a plan, follows that plan, gets her job done, and does what it takes to achieve what she wants to achieve.”
“It’s always been like an escape from everything. You know, when you’re in a game, it’s blinding. You know, you’re just in the game,” said Holland. rice field. “Nothing else is happening about what you are doing on the court, on the field, on the track. I know you can enjoy it.”
