WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Burgwin-Wright House takes guests back in time with this month’s special presentations and demonstrations to learn about the practices and dangers of colonial medicine.
Charles Brett will lead “Summon the Doctor: Common Ailments, Diseases and Remedies in Colonial America” on February 9 from 6-7:30 pm at the Bergwin Wright House.
Presentations will cover the various medical professions found in colonial America, the common medical problems and illnesses of the time, how practitioners were trained and treated their patients, and how medical practitioners were trained and treated in the 17th and 18th centuries.
