The storefront window at the corner of Alamo and Common streets has a sign that reads “Free Prayers.” not a church. It’s a naturopathic store.
“We started this business about five years ago when my husband, Clint, suddenly lost his job,” said Marcia Daniel. “At the time, we didn’t know exactly what we were going to do, but we knew, as believers, we were going to do it for God’s glory, whatever it was.”
Daniel said it was part of God’s plan that “everything, my husband lost his job.”
Her husband has been a pharmacist for 30 years. He started researching and researching natural medicine about 25 years ago, but eventually focused on helping people “stay healthy” with a more “holistic” approach that didn’t always involve pharmaceuticals. It got to the point that it was his preference to do So he decided to open a shop that offered herbal medicines, essential oils, nutritional testing, hormone testing, food allergy testing, gastrointestinal testing, test interpretation and consultation.
“We don’t sell whole foods, but since Rita’s Vitamart closed after the hurricane, I know a lot of people are looking for it… maybe someday,” Daniel said.
In the process of taking the time to listen to people during their consultations, Clint Daniel quickly realized that many of the health issues they were dealing with were “not just physical,” and business was more about it. It wasn’t long before it evolved into from business. I became general affairs.
“We bought some blank billboards to advertise our products, but Clint decided to put up ‘free prayers’ to see if people were interested in it,” he said. Daniel said, “It’s funny how many people have responded. People who walk in and don’t look at what’s on the shelf and ask, ‘What is this prayer about?’ There are.”
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel also keep a journal to keep praying after individuals come in. I’ve had good reports from some people, but mostly no one comes to pray one day and talks about how to pray the next. Prayer changed my life. One thing is certain. According to Daniel, for strangers who have never met, or who may never meet again, this prayer is transforming them.
“I feel compassion when I see how people long for God to work in their lives,” Daniel said. I am grateful for that.”
Danielle said the compassion she feels goes beyond building relationships and showing kindness, but that’s certainly part of it. I changed my focus.
“God let my husband know that if this store only brings in enough profit to keep the doors open so we can pray for people, that’s why we’re here.” I made you understand.”
For the Daniels, prayer is the privilege of communicating with God the Creator and partnering with Him as He works in people’s lives.
“We have no power,” said Daniel. He can heal through medicine, diet, and exercise by bringing someone home. he is sovereign I do not pretend to know how He works or how prayer works. All I know is that we are called to pray. ”
