At Grandview Primary Care in Kahaba Heights, Dr. Neil Tindell recently participated in his first family practice and believes every patient deserves a “medical facility.”
That accessibility is “the heart of family medicine,” he says.
“It is my responsibility as a primary care physician to coordinate all medical care,” says Dr. Tindell. “I am passionate about patient advocacy and believe my role is something of a quarterback for their care team.”
Dr. Tinder grew up in Prattville and received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama in 2012 and a Medical Degree from Alabama College of Osteopathy in 2018.
He completed the Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency at the University of Alabama in 2022. His areas of expertise include pediatrics, adult medicine, geriatrics and acute care.
To become a doctor is to fulfill a long-held ambition. According to Dr. Tindell, it wasn’t until middle school that he found his career path.
“I used to visit my aunt, who was a recovery room nurse, and I was drawn to medicine ever since,” he says. “I love the combination of being able to work with people, the challenges of diagnosing and treating patients, and being able to help them feel better and healthier.”
He ended up working in family medicine “through a non-traditional route,” he says.
“After completing my preliminary general surgery residency, I felt that God was leading me into a career in family medicine,” says Dr. Tinder. “I was drawn to the ability to care for different patients at all stages of life.
“Every day was challenging and satisfying,” he says. “I get to meet so many amazing people and share a small part of their lives.”
Dr. Tinder seeks to provide what he calls “full-circle primary care.”
“I try to address as many aspects of human health care as possible in my practice, which is important because it is convenient and cost-effective for patients,” he says.
Health checkups and preventive medicine are very important, he says.
“While check-ups may seem like an unnecessary use of a doctor’s appointment, if patients start seeing their doctor regularly, they can help prevent health problems before they become a reality. I think we can work to do that,” said Dr. Tinder. Say. “Doing simple things like eating healthy, exercising regularly, and getting restful sleep is a great first step to living a longer, healthier life.”
Dr. Tinder is happy to be part of the Grandview Medical Group network.
“They were very supportive of my new clinic and ensured everything we could ask for to care for our patients,” he says.
It also teaches you how to stay healthy in spring.
“Spring is a great time to get out and get some exercise, with nice weather,” says Dr. Tinder. “I would encourage anyone reading this to get out and exercise. Set goals and try to be consistent. You may not see immediate results, but you will.” You will be surprised when you do.”
Dr. Tinder is accepting new patients. Reservations can be made by phone or on the Grandview website.
