(WXYZ) — A mother and two children died of hypothermia at Pontiac Field near the Lakeside Housing Project, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department said.
The 35-year-old mother had a mental health crisis and believed someone was trying to kill her, according to the sheriff’s office, and believed that “everyone was involved in it.”
Her family reportedly tried to call her for help, but she refused and fled with her children.

Officials said she took her three children to a field and told them to sleep.
A 10-year-old girl survived the night and went to a nearby house for help, authorities said, telling her that her family had died in the field.
Sheriffs later found the woman and her two sons, ages 3 and 9, dead, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
The 10-year-old is currently admitted to the hospital in stable condition.
Sheriff Bouchard advocated for more support for community mental health resources.
