Will County, Illinois â Residents of Will County voted in November to create a Community Mental Health Commission. Community Mental Health Act enacted by the state of Illinois.
Community Mental Health Boards are responsible for planning, coordinating, evaluating and Allocate funds to mental health resources within Will County, according to a release from the county. The Board will work through 2023 to establish a framework for operating and prioritizing resources within the community.
Will County Administrator Jennifer Bertino Tarrant invites the public to join the newly formed Volunteer Commission. Applications for elected directors will be voted on by the county board of directors before appointments are finalized.
Requirements:
- Will County Resident
- Must not be a full-time or part-time employee of the Illinois Department of Human Services.
- Do not accept compensation or serve on the board of any organization seeking funding or contract from the Community Mental Health Board.
- Board members should preferably represent a diverse cross-section of interest groups within the community.
Board members are appointed staggered during their first four-year term. Following staggered terms, all director terms will be her four years.
