The Loiret Public Mental Health Establishment Georges Daumezon announces the deployment of its new mobile Home Intervention Evaluation and Orientation (IDEO) team, a pioneering system intended to intervene with tenants of social housing threatened with eviction, facing psychosocial difficulties and struggling to access care. Communiqué.

A preventive and innovative device
This initiative, financed by the Regional Health Agency (Innovation Fund), is part of a health, social and territorial approach, in close collaboration with social landlords and stakeholders in the Orléans metropolis. IDEO’s mission is to respond to the difficulties encountered by social landlords when they support tenants with psychological disorders or significant social vulnerabilities.
The team aims to:

-Prevent deterioration of situations that could lead to loss of housing or hospitalization without consent.

-Go to people unable to seek help themselves (CMP, psychiatric emergencies, etc.).

-Intervene early and initiate a coordinated care pathway in psychiatry, addiction or somatic medicine.

-Support social landlords, often the first witnesses to complex situations on a daily basis.

A multidisciplinary team for a global assessment
IDEO brings together psychiatrist, healthcare executive, psychologist, nurses and social workers.
This complementarity allows for a clinical, psychosocial and environmental assessment, as well as appropriate guidance towards health, medico-social or social partners.

Public concerned and area of intervention
The system is aimed at major tenants of social housing in the Orléans metropolitan area, within the framework of agreements established between the EPSM and social landlords.
Interventions concern worrying but non-urgent situations: isolation, neighborhood disturbances, deterioration of housing, disruption of rights or care, etc.
IDEO does not intervene in emergency situations involving the SAMU, firefighters or law enforcement.

A project co-built with local stakeholders
The system is the result of work carried out with: the CLSM of the Orléans metropolis, the DDETS of the Loiret, UNAFAM, the CCAS of the metropolis, the hygiene service of Orléans Métropole and the social landlords of the department

The Loiret EPSM plans, in the long term, to expand the scope of intervention in order to cover a larger part of the department thanks to new partnerships.
