The University Diploma “Peer-aid in mental health and neurodiversity”, co-supported by the psychosocial rehabilitation resource center and the University of Lyon 1, is launching a selection campaign for future students of the 7th promotion in 2026/2027. Press release.

This training is intended to train peer caregivers who will promote engagement in the care of people with severe mental illness or autism spectrum disorders, through motivational and psychoeducational actions. Through their sharing of experience they will also contribute to the modernization of practices.

The training is aimed at people who preferably wish to work in health or medico-social structures.

Comment candidater ?
– Chaque année nous recevons plusieurs centaines de candidatures.
– 60 candidats sont présélectionnés pour passer un entretien oral avec un binôme constitué par l’équipe pédagogique.
– 35 candidats sont retenus à l’issue de ces entretiens.

Opening of applications 2025/2026

Applications for the 2026/2027 class of DU peer aid in mental health and neurodiversity are open from March 3 until April 30. To apply, please complete the online application form here. Only complete forms will be considered.

At the end of the study of the files, the selected candidates will be received in May or June 2026 at CH Vinatier in Bron with a view to their possible admission. Given the number of candidates, we will only communicate positive responses. However, without hearing from us by the end of June, you can consider that you have not been selected for the oral exams.

Practical arrangements

Dates :

This is a training fully face-to-face (obligatory presence in Lyon). Attendance is necessary for validation of the diploma.

  • 4 face-to-face course sessions in total
    • 3 days in November
    • 3 days January
    • 3 days in March
    • 3 days in April
  • 35 to 70 hours of practical internship (any structure welcoming a peer helper or planning to do so)
  • A University Diploma thesis and an oral defense

Duration

one academic year (November to September).
