In a parent-baby day hospital, caregivers are sometimes confronted with intense negative experiences which weaken the care relationship. How can we explore and then use this clinical material to turn it into a therapeutic lever?

The Préludes (1) parent-baby day hospital (HDJ), open since 2015, aims to prevent and manage parental difficulties and pathologies of the relationship with the baby. Indications for hospitalization are based on the work of the parent-child bond and the need to prevent or identify early problems in the child. The service welcomes parent-child dyads (from birth to baby walking), one to four half-days per week. They are assisted in their daily problems (support for care, sleep, meals, etc.). Multidisciplinary care (psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, psychomotor, childcare, educational guidance, etc.) is aimed at the parent and the baby through individual and collective times.
