As part of the Great National Cause 2026 “Let’s talk mental health!” », the Government Information Service (SIG) is launching a call for projects aimed at associations in order to bring about an innovative communication campaign in favor of mental health with a prevention angle. Applications open until August 2, 2026

Mental health prevention today constitutes a major public health and social issue. Recent data from Public Health France highlights the extent of the needs: in 2024, nearly one in six adults have experienced a marked depressive episode in the last twelve months. Faced with these findings, the challenge is to act as early as possible, by promoting the determinants favorable to psychological well-being – quality sleep, balanced diet, physical activity, maintaining social ties, prevention of addictions – but also by strengthening the early identification of signs of ill-being and access to help. However, many obstacles persist: lack of awareness of warning signs, taboos, stigmatization, isolation, difficulty asking for help or identifying available resources.

This call for projects aims to support communication initiatives capable of better informing, raising awareness and directing audiences towards prevention, support and mental health care systems.
The selected campaign will benefit from national broadcasting, thanks to free slots on the antennas of public radio and television companies.
A powerful lever to massively reach the audiences concerned, strengthen the readability of existing systems and encourage effective recourse to care

Reaching out to those who don’t come: a priority

This third call for projects is part of a “going towards” approach, targeting people who have the most difficulty accessing information, asking for help or embarking on a mental health care pathway:

-children and adolescents;

– Young adults and students;

-people in precarious or isolated situations;

– caregivers;

-elderly people;

-people with disabilities;

-populations far from support systems.

Projects may notably aim to:

-promote a positive vision of mental health as a component of overall health;

-promote the early identification of signs of psychological suffering;

-fight against the stigmatization of mental disorders;

– encourage requests for help and referral to appropriate resources;

-develop protective psychosocial skills for mental health;

-strengthen solidarity and mutual aid capacities within families, schools, workplaces and territories.
