Victoria Hargrave, the entrepreneur behind The Tanning Room and Beau Bronzage, has revealed the launch of Prep & Prolong, a newly developed natural body wash created to help maintain smoother, longer-lasting tanning results.
The product will officially debut on Friday 12th December and will be available across all The Tanning Room salons, representing a significant new chapter for the Beau Bronzage product line.
Prep & Prolong was developed in response to a long-standing issue Victoria has repeatedly encountered in the tanning sector: widely available body washes that contain harsh soaps, artificial fragrances and chemicals that dry the skin and prematurely fade tans. The new formula is made with 94% natural-origin ingredients, is soap-free, and has been carefully balanced for pH and the skin’s microbiome. Designed to cleanse gently without compromising the skin barrier, it supports even tan development and, when used as part of a proper routine, can help clients achieve up to 14 days of wear.
A focus on natural formulations and UK-based manufacturing has been central to Beau Bronzage since its inception. Prep & Prolong now joins the brand’s existing range of tan accelerators and self-tanning products. In addition to being stocked in The Tanning Room locations, the product will be offered to salons nationwide as Victoria prepares to grow her professional stockist network throughout 2026.
The Beau Bronzage brand itself was created during an unexpected period. Following lockdown, Victoria struggled to find a spray tan solution she felt confident using, prompting her to develop her own. That same decisive approach first led her into business in 2013, when a casual visit to a tanning salon ahead of a family holiday — shortly after her mother’s recovery from kidney cancer — highlighted an unmet opportunity in the market. Just weeks later, she opened her first salon in Witney.
Since then, Victoria has built the business into a multi-award-winning brand with a growing salon footprint across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. The Tanning Room currently operates in Witney, Carterton, Swindon, Cirencester and West Swindon. Earlier this year, she made the strategic decision to close the Stroud location due to economic pressures, rising operating costs and declining footfall. Equipment was redistributed across remaining sites, with one Swindon salon recording a 60% increase in revenue within its first month.
Alongside managing her businesses, Victoria recently completed an MBA at Hult University, graduating at London’s Royal Festival Hall in August 2025. Having left school without formal qualifications, the milestone represents a significant personal achievement as well as a professional one.
“Prep & Prolong is something I’ve wanted to bring to the market for a long time,” said Victoria. “So many people don’t realise their body wash is the reason their tan fades quickly or goes patchy. This formula is simple, natural and kind to the skin and it genuinely makes a difference. When you prep properly, your tan should last so much longer.”
“I’m passionate about keeping my products UK-manufactured. A lot of salon brands are produced abroad and spend months on shelves before they even reach customers. I want Beau Bronzage to offer something fresher, cleaner, and more reliable for both clients and professionals.”
Prep & Prolong is now available through all The Tanning Room salons, Amazon and TikTok Shop, with additional Beau Bronzage product launches planned for 2026.
