While 60% of independent nurses (IDEL) at home have been confronted with attacks, the National Federation of Nurses (FNI) announces the launch of SentIDEL, the first free mobile application specifically designed to secure their practice.
Designed and supported by the project teams of the National Federation of Nurses (FNI), the application will be gradually deployed at the beginning of June 2026, on Apple and Android, and made available free of charge to all 135,000 IDELs working in the territory.
Faced with the alarming observation of 30,000 acts of violence per year in the health sector and 60% of IDELs already facing attacks, the limits of solutions that are too expensive, dependent on a single operator or unsuitable for the reality on the ground, the FNI has chosen a pragmatic and immediately operational response. SentIDEL responds to measure 20 of the September 2023 government plan for the safety of caregivers.
An application designed by and for IDELs
SentIDEL provides each private nurse with a set of functionalities directly taken from the daily practice of practices:
- SOS alert button: immediate triggering of an SMS and notifications with GPS position

The application underwent an in-depth internal testing phase in pilot firms during the spring of 2026. It is now ready to be deployed to the entire profession. “Liberal nurses have become essential players in home care. Too often, they intervene alone, at any time, in situations that can expose them to violence. With SentIDEL, the FNI provides a concrete, free and immediately available response. It is an operational commitment of the profession to itself,” underlines Daniel GUILERM, President of the FNI.
