Moral Injury UK Launched to Bring Recognition to Overlooked Health Condition

A new UK organisation has been launched to address Moral Injury, a condition that remains widely misunderstood and under-recognised despite its significant impact on mental and emotional health.

Moral Injury UK has been founded by Caron Sanders-Crook, an army veteran and health and social care professional with over 30 years of experience. The organisation is dedicated to supporting people affected by Moral Injury, a condition that goes beyond burnout or stress by damaging an individual’s core moral framework.

Through its work, Moral Injury UK aims to identify, measure and repair Moral Injury, placing ethical values, personal integrity and wellbeing at the centre of its approach. The organisation will support individuals directly while also working with businesses and industries to raise awareness and prevent Moral Injury in professional settings.

“This is a serious health condition. I want it talked about in the same breath as anything else – if someone suffers from back pain, you know what it is and to get treatment. I want the same recognition for Moral Injury,” said Caron Sanders-Crook.

“It can happen in any sector, to anyone. Our goal is to raise awareness, clarify the definition, and start meaningful conversations. We want to work with people and organisations to help make real changes.”

The concept for Moral Injury UK was shaped by Sanders-Crook’s personal experiences of Moral Injury arising from various life challenges and redundancy situations. These experiences led her to design diagnostic tools that help identify Moral Injury and translate insight into structured recovery pathways.

Operating from Essex, Moral Injury UK will offer a combination of in-person and online consultations, with a free Discovery Call available to individuals seeking initial guidance or information.

The organisation’s website is expected to go live in early 2026.
