MyAestheticsBusiness.com Launches to Support the Next Generation of UK Aesthetic Practitioners

A new business development platform has been launched to help newly qualified aesthetic practitioners navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business. Created by business and marketing coach Mike Sherwood, the initiative responds to the continued growth of the UK’s aesthetics sector and the increasing number of professionals entering the field.

MyAestheticsBusiness.com has been established to give practitioners access to the guidance, tools and support needed to create stable and sustainable businesses after qualification.

Mike’s background includes more than 25 years in business, with over 10 years spent working within the medical and aesthetics industries. Beginning in marketing, he later moved into consultancy, supporting clinics, aesthetic practitioners and private doctors with business growth and development. His work over the past 12 years has focused on helping professionals create clinics that are both profitable and scalable.

The launch reflects the rapid growth currently taking place within the aesthetics industry. According to industry estimates, approximately 1,000 people qualify in aesthetics across the UK every month. While technical training equips practitioners with treatment skills, many require additional support when it comes to launching and managing a business.

MyAestheticsBusiness.com has been designed to meet that need through a structured support model. The platform provides access to a peer and mentor community, a 12-week Business Launchpad programme that covers the essentials of business setup, and practical resources including website development and branding solutions.

Explaining the motivation behind the platform, Mike said there is often a disconnect between gaining a qualification and understanding how to run a successful business. “Many practitioners leave training with excellent clinical skills, but limited support around business development,” he said. “We created this platform to help bridge that gap and provide practical guidance from the very beginning.”

The platform also offers a Growth Accelerator programme for practitioners who want to move beyond the start-up phase and focus on expansion. This ensures ongoing support as businesses become more established.

Unlike conventional marketing providers, the platform focuses specifically on the commercial and operational challenges faced within the aesthetics sector. Mike’s experience working alongside practitioners has highlighted recurring issues such as pricing structures, branding, attracting clients and planning for future growth.

This approach aligns with broader changes taking place across the industry. Increasing competition and greater emphasis on compliance and professionalism have made strong business foundations more important than ever before.

Although initially aimed at UK practitioners, the concept has potential in overseas markets. Mike has identified countries including the United States and Australia as regions where similar industry growth is creating demand for business-focused support.

Speaking about future expansion, Mike said: “The UK market provides a strong starting point, but the challenges practitioners face are shared globally. Markets such as the US and Australia offer exciting opportunities for future growth.”

As more people enter the aesthetics profession, platforms like MyAestheticsBusiness.com are expected to help shape the journey from qualification to business ownership. With the popularity of non-surgical treatments continuing to rise, effective business management will remain a key factor in long-term success.
