“Maternity put to the test of migration”: publication of n°26 of the Rhizome magazine

Rhizome – National mental health and precariousness bulletin

This number of Rhizome explores the way in which the trials of migration weaken the experience of motherhood. Based on clinical, social support and experiential contributions, it highlights the impact of violence, precariousness, language barriers and inequalities in access to care on the psychological health of migrant women and their babies.

The perinatal period, a time of vulnerability but also of possible changes, questions professional practices, reception conditions and the issues of consent, social support and recognition of experiences. Caring for migrant mothers and fathers also means caring about the future of unborn children and the society that welcomes them.

Sandra Poirot Cherif likes to tell stories. With words, images, and sometimes even silences. These are his illustrations which accompany the texts of this issue.
